It’s not said often enough, but relaxing is essential to staying healthy. In our society, anxiety and stress have become a real scourge. Who hasn’t seen a loved one suffer from burnout, for example? There are several techniques and solutions available to help you stay relaxed in your daily life. At Thalasso & Spa Les Corallines - La Grande-Motte, we’ve listed below several simple relaxation techniques that will help you find peace in your everyday life.

Breathing

It may seem obvious, but breathing is essential for getting through your days with peace of mind. Whenever you feel the need, take the time to inhale deeply and then exhale slowly, allowing your chest to relax gradually. Repeat this at least 5 times. This very simple technique will bring you an almost instant sense of relaxation and help you better manage your daily stress spikes.

Yoga

Yoga is an activity that has proven to be very beneficial for relieving stress and anxiety. In particular, it helps you better control your heart rate and blood pressure, release muscle tension, and more. So don’t hesitate to give yoga a try and come discover our new yoga studio at Première Ligne.

Meditation

Meditation is another practice that offers many benefits for managing your relaxation. In addition to reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, it boosts the body’s immune system and lowers blood pressure. You’ll find many tutorials online explaining the basics of meditation for beginners. We also offer a breathing and meditation class at Première Ligne.

Massage with seawater or seawater-based treatments

Seawater massages soothe your body by allowing it to absorb the trace elements and minerals found in abundance in seawater. For optimal relaxation, focus the massage on areas of tension such as the neck, temples, soles of the feet, back, etc.

Reduce stress / learn to disconnect

Again, this advice may seem obvious, but it’s essential for reducing stress. For a few moments each day, focus solely on yourself, disconnect from digital devices, and simply take time to recharge and let your emotions flow. You’ll see—these few minutes of letting go will quickly recharge your body’s batteries.

Drink water

That’s right—drinking water is very beneficial for managing your daily stress. Our bodies are made up of nearly 70% water! So you can see that if you’re not sufficiently hydrated, your body will be much more prone to stress, and the symptoms you experience will be much more severe. When dehydrated, people are much more prone to anxiety and irritability. So be sure to drink water at least once an hour throughout the day.

Try herbal teas with relaxing properties

Herbal teas can have a significant impact on your stress levels. In fact, many herbs have soothing properties for the body. The best-known include chamomile, passionflower, St. John’s wort, hawthorn, and others. Herbal teas are also an excellent way to cut back on your coffee intake. The caffeine in coffee has a stimulating effect and can, during stressful times, increase your anxiety and tension.
